Romans 10:13

  • Romans 10:13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
  • The New World Translation reads as follows: "Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."
  • Jehovah's Witnesses cite this verse claiming the nessecary use of God's proper name to obtain salvation.
  • The word " Lord" (Gr. kuriou)
  • In context, "Lord" refers to Jesus Christ in vs. 9
  • Romans 10:9 (New American Standard Bible) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
  • So then by their own argument, and simple logic,
  • if Lord means "Jehovah"
  • and Lord refers to Jesus Christ here.
  • then Jesus must be Jehovah
  • Which any JW will utterly reject.
  • So this means one of 3 things.
  • 1 They are simply lying to cover up the truth about Christ
  • 2 They are not very logical in their reasoning
  • 3 They dont study their scripture in context

Why deny Christ's divinity?

Why do we see in our culture, many, many, who claim that Jesus was not God, and that he never rose from the dead? Our culture is just full of misrepresentations of our Lord and Savior.
<>< <><
You see, even Christs enemies in his day, (the Pharisees) knew Christ was claiming to be God. But due to the hardness of their hearts the would not accept Christ for who he truly was.
Today we have many people who who like to sit in musty libraries and many miles and years removed like to try to explain away all Christ did, and what he stood for .
.<>< <><
All I have to say is that if you don't want to believe in Christ, then don't put him down. He already died for your sins, and has offered you eternal life. If one wants to reject his free gift, then do so with dignity and stop trying to explain away who he was and what he did. # 1 You look like a fool, because all true believers already know what and who Christ truly is. #2 You look like a fool to unbelievers because to them one who is constantly trying to disprove who he is , appears to be just as fascinated with him as believers only in his rejection instead of worship.
. <>< <><
Let me give and example of the Pharisees understanding that they understood the claims Christ made. In John10:33 we see " The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makes thyself God "
. <>< <><
See Christs own enemies knew he was claiming to be God incarnate, so why are there so many people today, trying to say that Christ never claimed to be God. PLEASE. Just read what the text is saying. Christ truly taught that he was God, John 14:1 and many more. The apostles taught that Christ was God. Philippians 2: 5-10.

So I open this up to discussion please tell me what you think and why. Thank you for your time and participation.

The Parable of the Mustard Seed

Mark 4 : 30-32 "And He said, "How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it? " "It is like a mustard seed, which , when sown upon the soil, though it is smaller than all the seeds that are upon the soil. yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and forms large branches; so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR CAN NEST UNDER ITS SHADE." This parable is saying that the kingdom of God seemingly had insignificant beginnings, It was started by a rejected messiah and his 12 disciples. But a day will come when its true greatness and power will be seen by all the world. And in that day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord. Amen to that : )

Did Jesus Raise Physically or Spiritually from the Dead

  • If Jesus only rose from the dead spiritually then on what basis did the Apostles have to claim that he was indeed the Messiah? According to scripture in 1 Corinthians 15:50 says that
  • " flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable"
  • Apparently if we were to understand this verse correctly " flesh and blood" is an idiom to refer to mortal humanity. Of course mortal humanity could not inherit the kingdom of God, but what about immortal humanity? So Christ body must have changed to a body that is imperishable and incorruptible. Not that he didn't have a body, just a glorified body.
  • In vs. 53 we see that the " this perishable must put on the imperishable , and this mortal must put on immortality ". Once again, we see that this new glorified body is something that we must put on or something that is added to our current PHYSICAL bodies.
  • If Christ did not raise physically from the dead then, sin would have never been beaten, and Christ claim to be the Messiah would have been washed up. For Jesus said he would rebuild this temple in 3 days. If he didn't then he would have lied and his whole ministry would have been in vain. Christ never sinned and he fully raised himself from the dead.
  • Thus Sin has been conquered and we can all bank on the fact that our Lord and Savior loved us all so much that he fully gave himself for us, that in him we may have eternal life.
